Kristin Castello, CPA, CFP®
Kristin Castello, CPA, CFP® is a Certified Financial Planner® professional, a Certified Public Accountant, and a Certified Financial Fiduciary® with Nelson Financial Planning, Inc. (NFP). Kristin is a FINRA Registered Representative with Nelson Ivest Brokerage Services, Inc. (NIBS). She also holds a Series 7 Securities License and a Life, Health, and Variable Annuities License. Kristin’s primary responsibilities include creating personalized financial plans and providing tax advice. She specializes in tax planning, investment planning, and small business planning.
Kristin graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida in 2015 earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance. She continued her education at the University of Florida where she graduated in 2016 with a Master of Accounting, concentration in Taxation.
While attending the University of Central Florida, Kristin was an intern with NFP where she assisted with tax preparation and client investment reports.
After graduation, Kristin worked as a public accountant at RSM US LLP where she prepared tax returns for corporations, pass-through entities, and high-net-worth individuals. In February 2019, Kristin was very happy to rejoin the NFP team as a Financial Planner.
Kristin is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Florida Institute of CPAs (FICPA), and Financial Planning Association® (FPA®). Kristin was chosen for the FICPA’s 2021-2022 Leadership Academy, which is a selective, high-impact leadership development program for CPAs under age 35. She actively participates in the FICPA’s Women in Leadership Committee, UCF’s Young Alumni Committee, and the Junior League of Greater Orlando.
Kristin was born and raised in Winter Park, Florida where she remains very close with her parents and three siblings. In her free time, Kristin and her husband, Michael, like to go to the beach, theme parks, and on walks with their rescue pup, Walter. Kristin enjoys giving back to her community and has volunteered for several Central Florida organizations including Give Kids the World, Kids Beating Cancer, Boys & Girls Club, and the American Cancer Society.
