Over the years, Nelson Financial Planning has had the privilege of working with several local charities to support our community in Central Florida. Aligning with our core values, Nelson Financial Planning is committed to giving back to the community in which we live and work. As a firm, we organize annual fundraisers where we promote local charities and encourage community participation. Check out some of our events below.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida

Nelson Financial Planning partners with The Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida to help feed those in need throughout our community. Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is a private, nonprofit organization that collects, stores, and distributes donated food to more than 550 feeding partners in six Central Florida counties: Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Volusia.

Toys for Tots

Nelson Financial Planning volunteers with Toys for Tots to collect new toys during the holiday season. Toys for Tots is a not-for-profit public charity that seeks to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate children in the community by means of a new toy at Christmas.

Nelson Financial Planning is a Toy Drop Off Location for Toys for Tots during the holiday season. By being a Toy Drop Off Location, we make it easy and convenient for our family, friends, and clients to donate to Toys for Tots!

If you would like to donate to Toys for Tots, please visit their website or drop off your new toys at our office during November and December.

Grace Medical Home

Nelson Financial Planning supports Grace Medical Home whose mission is to offer the highest level of medical care to those in our community who need it most. Grace Medical Home is a not-for-profit organization located in Orlando, FL that provides affordable health care services for uninsured individuals.

Nelson Financial Planning is a long-time sponsor and participant in Let’s Say Grace, an annual fundraiser to celebrate Grace Medical Home’s patients and mission.

Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA)

Nelson Financial Planning sponsors the Paralyzed Veterans of America Central Florida Chapter, which provides a wide range of support to wounded veterans including employment support, medical services, legal services, and caregiver support. Paralyzed Veterans of America is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of paralyzed veterans to achieve maximum health, productivity, and self-esteem in their daily lives.

Nelson Financial Planning is a long-time sponsor of the PVA Central Florida Chapter and a participant in their annual Golf Tournament. Next time you visit our office, check out the wooden American flag handmade by a PVA member hanging in our conference room!

Seminole County and Orange County Public Schools

Nelson Financial Planning collects school supplies for local classrooms. The staff also volunteer by filling backpacks in the summer and signing up for guest speaking opportunities.
